Middle Ground: DC Comics To Switch Established Character’s Sexual Orientation Soon

dcugays:

One question asked at the DC panel today at Kapow, was about Dan’s interview with the Advocate in the USA. Specifically over the decision not to change any character’s sexual orientation when relaunching the DC Universe. At the time Dan stated they would introduce new LGBT…

Interesting. So someone who hasn’t shown up then? WhocoulditbeWhocoulditbe

Posting about Young Justice/Invasion

Because it seems this is all I’m able to do on tumblr now….
Possible spoilers so don’t read if you don’t want…but I’m pretty good about keeping things on the DL because I usually get more…rant-y..?

I hated the season finale, like…hated it. And no not because of the kissing at the end, because I usually don’t have a feel for that kind of stuff anyway, but for ROY.
I’ve been a comic reader for….3-4 years now? Which isn’t a lot, but I love it! And I encourage people to read comics! Unfortunately most of the eager-to-read-comics friends I have want to read comics BECAUSE of Young Justice. And honestly…if I hadn’t read comics before this cartoon I would be completely lost when I started trying to get into them. Everything is so messed up…character/time-line wise…character development has been good as of lately though.
But ugh, roy…(still trying not to spoil) what even is!

Okay I’ll consider this next part non-spoiler since NOTHING IS CONFIRMED
but those leaked stills from the supposed next episode for Invasion.
Oh. My. God.
I will forgive everyone who was apart of this show for ruining my life (and roy’s)  if this is what I think it is. I realize everyone is on the rocks with opinions on this…but COME ON. It’s like, everything I’ve ever wanted for the show if that Robin IS Tim Drake. Because before nothing made SENSE…like Robins costume or cassie being somehow older than (what we thought was dick) or suddenly lobo and superboy in a tim-less world and miss martian cutting her hair BUT NOW IT ALL DOES (uh…relatively). And okay, yes I love Jason Todd too, but guys seriously…he does not need to be Robin. He was an awful Robin…he only finally got good development as of (relatively, that’s my word today apparently) recently…and that was still when he was Red Hood, NOT Robin.

I fucking love Tim Drake. Favorite DC Character hands down. He took robin and made it his own…that to me makes him my robin. No contest.
The show is called Young Justice…if this could (even for a bit…) turn into those comics I loved….I’d be so happy.

Alright. That’s all I’m gonna say. So anxious for saturday! Having all the timfeels right now. Shit.

This weeks new episode of Young Justice

Can someone please confirm the Doctor Who reference in this week’s episode focusing on Artemis? It was 7:30 am when I was watching it, so I could be completely delusional. I texted all of my friends and none of them saw anything? But dat call box…..

Maybe I should go back to bed.

Well, it wasn’t a police box, but it was definitely a blue communications box that Artemis disappeared into.

I beg to differ? Added picture now on post, I just decided to go watch it again. Sorry for crap quality, taken off phone straight from my DVR. Hopefully you can see where it says police.

Edit: Added picture to make sure I wasn’t crazy.

Wondercon 2012 Report

Alright, so here’s a Wondercon report of all that happened (meaning Saturday, the only day I went)!

Want to post on tumblr to see if anyone in the SoCal or Cal in general area recognizes us? We’re locals who are crazy for comics, and I always want/need more comic book friends! We were dressed as Robin and Miss Martian from the Young Justice Cartoon. If you know that we personally took your pic, you may ask for that too.
J

Got there around 9 when it opened, but we spent like an hour fixing costumes, my friend helping me sew down some stuff that kept popping up. My pose is even more awkward then it was at Anime Conji (the day before), because when I fell asleep on the ride to Anaheim some paint rubbed off on part of my suit…which was pretty terrible because it caused our moods to alter drastically from 10-11 (we felt miserable that our hard work was falling apart—my miss martian about her body paint rubbing off)
When we finally started to walk around the dealer’s hall (which I regrettably did not  get to see all of) , we ran into a red robin amongst people wanting our pictures, and he told us to go to the DC booth because there was free a photo where they would manip you into the Justice League. Before we had a chance to get in line, we were stopped by managers of DC Nation and cartoon network, who wanted to start filming us once they started to set up at 11! So we took pics with the League (or I did—my miss martian blended in with the screen… hilarious actually), then did an interview that was both terrifying and amazing. Maybe my friend can recall the questions more, but I just remember being asked “Worst villain to bump into?” And I answered “The joker, I hear he’s got a crowbar” SHOWS HOW NERVOUS I WAS.

We got a bunch more photos taken walking around…a lot with little children, which I have to say is AMAZING, because they’re adorable and idolize you. One was a little damian wayne! OH GOD (we had to run and take a picture with him again later because of his adorable) his parents had him do practiced poses and everything! And he just kept staring at us and waving!

Walked around a bit more, met creator of book Cosplay in America! Did a shoot/interview with him (he’s sooo cool) then went back into the rain to find food but we mostly got drinks since my mouth was dry the entire day.

Met a guy who wrote 3 episodes for Young justice near the marvel booth after he took our pic! I remember he wrote their first mission, Reality….and the therapy session (lol Reality is the only title I can remember off top of my head). Wish we could have spoken longer but so many people and pictures! Then around 2ish I began my search for Todd Nauk who I had missed in the autograph signings. I waited in that line 2 WHOLE HOURS! Bought a young justice limited poster which he signed, and also commissioned him a Tim Drake drawing which he drew in front of me! He basically told us his life story, which was incredible to hear and he’s so sweet! He asked for our picture too!

Then it was suddenly four thirtyish, and we ran back upstairs to see the DC Nations Panel but caught a bit of the Marvel one too (not even sure what it was for, but we enjoyed the 30 minutes we got of it). Before the panel started the guy who was sitting next to me engaged in a huge convo with me about young justice, and then turned around and gave me a signed poster from the show! This was amazing because I could tell he liked it just as much as me. THEN WE GOT ALL THE YOUNG JUSTICE INVASION SPOILERS! Which are posted on DC’s website and videos are floating around, so no need for me to fill you in I think? But LOBOLOBOLOBO. Then…we went home. Or, we went into a men’s bathroom for thirty minutes, STRANDED. But that’s another story, lmao.

So, that’s basically the highlights/sum of it! Got YJ art, a DC Nations poster, some freebies, and comic book key-chains :P Good Weekend.

See you all at San Diego Comic Con!
Costume lineup for that should be Jason/Talia Robin/Miss Martian and Billy/Teddy…maybe Roy/Donna if we rush to get stuff done.
